Alastair Galpin
took to world record-breaking in 2004 after being inspired by a record-setting rally driver in Kenya. What began as a hobby soon escalated into an active publicity pursuit. Today, he promotes the work of social and environmental causes. For these purposes, the most fitting game plans are chosen; then world titles are attempted and frequently created.

Seeking a Sustaining Sponsor
I am currently looking for a sustaining sponsor - a company or business willing to sponsor my record efforts and thereby achieve worldwide media exposure.
If your business ethics include environmentally-conscious sustainable practices, WorldRecordChase.com would be particularly interested in discussing a variety of mutually beneficial options with you.
More details appear below about how I can work together with business to promote your brand.
Aiming for Guinness World Records™ Day
I have been working over a period of months on a new world record attempt, which is aimed to raise the profile of the Auckland Down Syndrome Association (ADSA) in New Zealand. Various members of the team have been touched by people with Downs over the years, and we are therefore highly supportive of this cause - seeing the fulfilling lives which these people can have, make us all the more appreciative of our own well being.
We have chosen a world record attempt which is bound to attract wide media coverage in all formats, and therefore should form a great opportunity for promoting ADSA and Down Syndrome in general, as well as other sponsors.
You may well have heard of current world records for the fastest furniture - yes, if you can build an armchair or a bed, capable of high speeds, then you too might be able to hold a world record.
Some years ago, we actually completed the main build and design, with the aim of beating the current world record for the fastest furniture. We still have the engineering designs.
Our record attempt will be a motorized bed, which should hopefully be more aerodynamic than a dining set!
We are therefore looking to raise funds to complete this build - including obtaining the outer cladding to put the clothes on the vehicle, so to speak.
This world record attempt is set to generate a lot of media. We've had enquiries internationally. It will be available commercially after the record attempt - we encourage you to do something different when you use it, and break away from regular promotional tactics.
We are particularly interested in corporate sponsorship of the attempt by insurance companies and bed manufacturers, taking into account the nature of the world record attempt.
However, if you are an individual who would like to support the attempt, remember that every dollar helps (as they say).
Once the record attempt has been completed, the functional vehicle will then be available for promotional hire. There will be special rates for Down Syndrome groups wishing to continue to use the vehicle to raise awareness.
Specially designed spaces on the vehicle allow children with Down Syndrome to experience supervised rides at their special events. They will be sure to enjoy "fame" in photo shoots, and using the vehicle will draw attention to Down Syndrome in general.
ADSA have created the video below in support of the attempt, which also highlights the great
work that they do.

Promote
your business by sponsoring world records
I have a wide variety of forthcoming
record attempts, which need your sponsorship to
help turn them into reality.
For corporate sponsors, I can offer
product placement (or even use your products in record
attempts), plus permanent links on this website as well
as logo placement.
I am also willing to work with you
to come up with new world record attempts which fit in
line with your existing marketing strategy and corporate
responsibility policies.
In return, I can offer wide media attention, with news-grabbing headlines and varied media spotlights, from radio and television interviews to televised record attempts. Have a read of the stories behind my existing world records to see some of the media attention which I have attracted in the past.
We have also devised several ideas as to how world records could be used to create a television media campaign in order to help promote businesses and education.

of a world record attempt, please use the contact form on my website.
