Alastair Galpin
took to world record-breaking in 2004 after being inspired by a record-setting rally driver in Kenya. What began as a hobby soon escalated into an active publicity pursuit. Today, he promotes the work of social and environmental causes. For these purposes, the most fitting game plans are chosen; then world titles are attempted and frequently created.

Fundraising campaign - Indonesian environmental education
Have they told you? – Educating far-flung Indonesia
Rural Indonesia is experiencing a circus of ecological destruction by armed workers, corrupt officials, big money and mercenaries. To combat this, Have they told you? aims to deliver environmental education which is unfortunately lacking in the current government school curriculum.
To raise awareness of the problem, we are
attempting a world record for the "Largest collection of hand-made educational items" in
batches of
1,001. The educational items need to reach children in
communities where
the government's own education system has difficulty
penetrating, and
will be downloadable by teachers, and include English-Bahasa
Indonesia
translations.
